Secret Honey Elsa Travel Dress and Coat – Frozen 2
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today, I would like to show you this Elsa Travel Dress and Coat from Secret Honey. The design is wonderful, they paid special attention to Elsa’s belt on both pieces. So many sequins, rhinestones and embroidery, it’s a glittery dream!
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Sally Dress.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Elsa Travel Dress
Let us start with the dress first. Here it is on my dress form:
As you can see, there is not much room in the dress. My dress form wears a size S, this dress is very small, but more about that later. Here it is from the side:
The back surprises with this cute cut-out with embroidery:
Size and Closure
As I already mentioned, this dress is very, very small. The sleeves are narrow, the shoulders are narrow, there is not much shirring and room for the waist (only about 70 cm) and only around 90 cm of circumference in the bust area. I don’t know if I will ever be able to fit into this dress. Well, if I do, the sleeves will certainly not be long enough for me 😉
It closes with a side zipper:
The Bodice
Let’s have a look at the different parts of this dress that is actually really beautiful which is why I bought it although it is so small. Here is a closer look at the bodice from the front:
The fabric that was used for this dress reminds me of suede. It does have a subtle print with snowflakes:
The Shoulder Details
The print that decorates the shoulders, is much more prominent. It imitates ice crystals. We also have different snowflakes around the edges. I like, that the edges of the print more or less match at the seams. Here is the print from the front.
And here we have the back of the dress with the shoulder detail. The print doesn’t match perfectly at the seam, but still, it does match for most of the crystals:
The Underdress
To represent Elsa’s Dark Sea Dress she is wearing underneath her Travel dress, we have a piece of white fabric that is decoreated with sequins beneath the blue fabric. This piece builds the “lining” of the bodice, the bodice is only lined in the front due to this underlayer.
A cute detail are the tulle ruffles at the top of the white piece. The tulle is quite soft.
The Back
The star of the dress is of course the cut-out in the back. I am always amazed when Secret Honey embroiders mesh or tulle, I could never. The design is veeeery simple compared to the design on Elsa’s dress in the movie:
The Belt
Another eye-catcher is of course the belt in the front of the dress. On this picture you can see, that the fabric “pilled” a bit next to the centre front seam and also around the embroidered design. I would imagine, that this dress doesn’t hold up to wearing it often well. But let’s talk about the design of the belt. Here is the belt from the Elsa Travel Cosplay that shows the design from the movie. The designs on the side of the belt ressemble the one from the movie a lot:
Here is a detail shot of the design in the centre front. The different points of the star are done in different embroidery style and with different thicknesses of thread. There are also some cute snowflakes.
And here is a detail shot of one of the designs on the side. I really like this belt design a lot. It is subtle (only using one colour of thread for example), but still very detailed (different designs, patterns in the embroidery, rhinestones usw.).
The Skirt
Now let’s have a look at the skirt of this dress. The fabric has the same snowflake print like the fabric of the bodice, but additionally, there are little white dots printed on the fabric, that do remind me of a look outside my window when it is snowing:
The skirt of this dress is actually lined, which is very nice:
Around the hem, we have a pretty border print with ice stars:
I almost missed it when I first had a look at this dress: On the right side of the skirt inthe front, we have a pretty print of Elsa hidden in one of the ice stars:
And that are all the details of the Elsa Travel dress that I wanted to show you. Now, let’s have a look at the coat together:
The Elsa Travel Coat
This coat is very much over the top at least for me. I don’t think I would dare to wear it anywhere else than in Disneyland… But it is very beautiful to look at! Here it is from the front:
It is a little bit bigger than the dress itself, but also here, not much room in the bust area. Here is the coat from the side:
And here it is from the back:
Size and Closure
The coat closes with a zipper in the centre front. The zipper has this beautiful pull in form of a snowflake:
This coat is like many other Secret Honey coats on the smaller side, especially in the bust area. Not much more room than 94 cm. But no problem if you fit the dress, you also fit the coat.
Detachable Fur
The fur cuffs and collar are removable, which I like a lot because without the fur collar, the coat seems more wearable for me.
The fur collar is attached with buttons and button loops. I recommend you not to remove it, it was a pain in the proverbial to get it back on 😉 The loops are elastic and the fur always gets in the way.
Here is a look at the underside of the fur collar. It is lined with a soft white satin:
And here is a detail shot showing the button loops:
The fur cuffs are attached with buttons as well, but not button loops, there is actually a satin layer inside the cuffs that has button holes, so it is much easier to attach than the collar.
Here you can see the cuffs from the outside and the inside:
The Belt
The belt got special attention for the coat too. This time, the design is closer to the design Elsa wears in the movie. It is decorated with sequins and rhinestones.
Here is a close up of the embroidery design in the centre of the belt:
The Pockets
I like, that they really put sparkles everywhere even at the top of the pockets you can find a pretty embroidery design with sequins:
Embroidery around the Hem
Of course, the coat needs the design around the bottom of Elsa’s travel dress. It is embroidered in different coulored thread and with different embroidery designs. The design is embellished with sequins and some more rhinestones. Here is the design next to the centre front opening of the coat:
And here is a close up of the design on one of the panels of the coat. Per panel there’s two embroidered motives:
The Lining
Secret Honey always puts pretty linings inside their coats and this one is no exception. We have Anna and Elsa walking through the forrest printed on the blue fabric:
Anna and Elsa are printed in different colours and colour gradients:
And that is finally everything 🙂 You made it to the end of this monster post, thanks a lot for reading! I hope you enjoyed having a look at the details of the Elsa Travel dress and coat. I see you in my next post.
Love,
Ella
