Secret Honey Kristoff Dress – Disney’s Frozen
Today I would like to talk about my Secret Honey Kristoff dress. I think, Kristoff and Hans from Frozen as well as Jack Skellington are the only guys that Secret Honey has designed dresses for… Correct me if I’m wrong. I love the idea and love those dresses.
If you like these dresses, I showcase a new one (almost) every month, so if you’re interested, check them out, the last one I showed you was my Elsa Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Dress. If you’d like to know more about the brand and how I get these dresses, I have a whole post for you on how to buy Secret Honey dresses.
The Kristoff Dress
I absolutely adore this dress it is sooooo cute. It is on the smaller side, but here I am wearing it together with a black shirt:
Here it is on my dressform:
The bow at the waistband is actually detachable, it is just pinned on.
And from the back:
Do you see, how beautiful the hem is? It does have some structure thanks to the trim as well as the fur. And the fur falls sooooo nice, it looks really good when moving.
Let’s get into some details.
The Collar
As you can see, there is also trim, a velvet band as well as fur around the neckline. I fix the centre front on the shirt I wear beneath since it does not lie flat.
There is also fur around the armholes. Here is the trim in a bit more detail:
In total, there are four different kinds of trim used on this dress, 3 of them repeated on the waistband, the fourth is exclusively around the hem.
In the back, you have an additional closure for the neckline. I never open this, it works fine, it is a cute detail though.
The Cut
The cut is very interesting and very small, be aware of that. There is not much room in the bust area and also the waist is smaller. I barely fit this dress, which is really sad because I love it so much. The risk with japanese one sizes… But, let’s have a look at the closure.
As you can see, the dress closes with a side zipper and is fully lined. The zipper is hidden, as always. There is shirring in the back and you can adjust the size using the lacing:
As you can see, there is not much ease left. This dress is really tight and my dressform is a bit slimmer than me.
The Embroidery
This is actually one of the first dresses, that did not feature the usual prints. They do that more often today, but back in the day, almost all dresses had the prints around the hem:
I love the embroidery. It is so cute. This is really something different, that is why I keep this dress, eventhough it does not fit comfortably.
The only “character” that is displayed is Sven, as you can see.
The rest are snowflakes, trees, ice, the sled etc. It is such a unique and pretty dress!
And that’s it for today. Thanks a lot for reading, I hope you enjoyed and I wish you a nice morning, afternoon, evening or whatever time it is at your place.
