Secret Honey Merida Set
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today I would like to show you my Merida Set from Secret Honey. This is hands down one of my top 3 Secret Honey dresses I own. I absolutely adore it.
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Elsa Travel Cosplay.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Merida Set
As always, we start with photos of the whole outfit. Here is me wearing it ca. 2015/16 🙂 Those glasses… a sin 😛
Here it is from the front:
This set consists of a shirt, a skirt and a little brooch. Here it is from the side:
The sleeves are for once a good length on me. Still a bit short, but ok to wear out. And here it is from the back:
The Shirt
Let’s start with the velvet shirt. The fabric is super soft and has a beautiful shine:
There is a little lace up detail with a velvet ribbon at the top. The collar is decorated with ruffles:
Then we have the sleeve detail which is similar to the renaissance dresses where the chemise was poking out of slits in the fabric of the overdress. It is done with ribbon, decorated with white specks and a linen-like fabric underneath:
The Brooch
The brooch is made from tartan fabric and a copper coin with three bears on it. It gets attached with a safety pin in the back.
I normally don’t attach it to the skirt because I’m afraid of it leaving holes behind. So I just keep it around because it’s pretty.
The Skirt
Sizing and Closure
This skirt is really roomy for Secret Honey. It still fits me with a waist of 85 centimetres. There is a shirring panel in the back with a lace up detail:
The skirt closes with a side zipper and a hook and an eye at the top. I absolutely adore the waistband, the outer fabric is wonderful as well as the lining fabric Secret Honey used. Both very sturdy, so the waistband doesen’t crinkle:
The Border Print
There is of course a border print for this skirt but it is very subtle. It’s mostly celtic patterns and a few motives of Merida woven into them. Here are the first three motives of Merida, Merida with her bow and Merida with her little bear brothers:
And here are the other two motives. Here we have Merida with Angus:
And that is already it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed having a look at all the details of this beautiful Merida Set from Secret Honey. I thank you for reading and wish you a good one.
Love,
Ella
