Secret Honey Snow White Winter Set – Dress and Top
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today I would like to show you my Snow White Winter Set from Secret Honey. This is post 1 of 2 covering the Snow White winter dress and top. In the next post I will show you the matching coat. This dress is so cute, I adore it. I really like the cut of the skirt, it’s very flattering. And I love the fabric the shirt is made from, it’s so soft.
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Anna Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Cosplay.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Snow White Winter Set
First of all, I would like to show you the top and dress in their full glory on my dressform. Here they are from the front:
The colours of the shirt and the bodice of the dress are slightly mismatching. This is a pet peeve of mine, Secret Honey always does that. It never matches perfectly… Why? But anyway, here it is from the side:
I really like the shape of the skirt on this, it’s very flattering. The dress is high waisted but I think I’ll like it on me (once I fit into it that is) because of that skirt. I have a very similar self drafted pattern that I love. Here it is from the back:
I have taken out the satin band that was used for the lace up detail in the back. I wanted to tie it differently but I couldn’t get it through the tiny loops anymore… But I don’t think it’s a problem since they are so tiny, they are barely visible.
Sizing and Closure
This dress is tiny. Just let me tell you that much. It barely fits my dressform and she’s a German 36. There is not much room for a bigger bust and the underbust is very tiny as well. The dress closes with a side zipper and a hook and an eye at the top:
There is an elasticated panel in the center back that my dressform needs to make the dress fit. The shirt is made from a very soft elastic velvet and easy to put on and take off. It stretches decently so it will also fit a size M (the dress won’t however, it’s a size S).
The Top
The top is actually very lovely and I think, I will also wear this without the dress for a cute little Snow White bound moment. Here it is on my dressform:
I absolutely love the colour of this shirt, it is so rich. Contrary to the dress bodice that is more muted in colour. I also adore the sleeves, they are very cute. Here is a detail shot of the upper part showing the embroidery that represents the cut outs in Snow Whites dress:
And then we have the cute neckline that is decorated with lace:
The Dress
And here I have a few details of the dress for you:
The Bodice
The lace collar of this dress is actually detachable. It is attached with several buttons to the neckline. I like it, but it looks very costumy with the collar. The dress looks more wearable without it. So it depends on your personal taste if you wear it or not 🙂
Then we have beautiful floral embroidery on the neckline and waistband. The embroidery is surrounded by a pretty braided trim. Makes it feel a bit “traditionally” German to me:
The Print
Then we have a beautiful and subtle print on the fabric of the skirt showing Snow White, the Evil Queen and all seven dwarves. Here are Snow White and the Evil Queen with the poisoned apple:
The dwarfs are separated in groups of three and one is alone with only the floral print accompanying him. Here are the first three dwarves:
Don’t ask me for their names… I barely know them in German, so how should I know them in English XD I think one of them is called “Hatschi” in German, because he always sneezes. Here are the next three:
Also here, I know one of them, Brummbär XD The grumpy one. And here is the last one, Seppel:
And that is already it for this post. I hope you enjoyed having a look at the details of this Secret Honey Snow White Winter Set together with me. Don’t miss part two that I will upload next, covering the Snow White winter coat matching the top and the dress. I thank you for reading and wish you a good one!
Love,
Ella
