Secret Honey Anna Skating Costume
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today, I would like to show you this beautiful Anna Skating Costume from Secret Honey. I love green on Anna so much, the colour is perfect for her. I am sad, that she wore this dress for such a short amount of time, I would have loved to see more of it 🙂
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Coronation Elsa Coat and Tote.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Anna Skating Dress
First up: There are remakes of this dress floating around in the internet and they are different than the original dress. The one I show you in this post is an original Secret Honey dress. I wrote a post about the differences between the original and the remake, in case you are interested and need some reference photos to decide wether you are buying an original or a remake.
Now, let us start with pictures of this beautiful dress on my dress form. First from the front:

This dress was originally sold for 28000 yen plus taxes. Here it is from the side:

And here it is from the back:

The Bodice
I absolutely love the bodice of the Anna skating dress. The shiny fabric is so beautiful. I am normally no fan of shiny fabrics because they look cheap to me, but this one that shimmers in different tones of green and blue looks really pretty.

Size and Closure
The bodice is like all the Anna bodices quite small in the bust area. My dress form has a bust of 89 cm and I’d say around 92 cm would be possible. There is a shirring panel in the back and also a lace up detail to cinch the waist.

The bodice closes with a zipper on the side. No hidden zipper, which is less pretty but certainly more durable.

Here is the bodice on my floor. There is boning in the centre front, which is nice, it gives a nice shape and keeps the bodice from wrinkling:

And here it is from the back. As usually with Secret Honey, it is fully lined. Quality as always!

The Buttons
The detail on the bodice that stands out most are of course the buttons in the front. They are covered in a shimmery green fabric and decorated with a silver Arendelle emblem.

Between the buttons is this beautiful green braid that matches the colour of the buttons so well:

And here is a close up of two buttons:

The Binding
Another nice detail is the beautiful binding made from the same fabric as was used to cover the buttons. The fabric has a beautiful shimmer which is one of the main differences to the remake I was talking about above, which has a darker green satin binding without shimmer instead.

Here is another detail of the pretty binding. And you can also see how wonderful the fabric for the bodice is in this close up:

The Dress
The shirt and skirt part are one dress as per usual with Secret Honey. Here is the dress on my dress form without the bodice:

Sizing and Closure
The dress closes with a hidden zipper in the centre back and a hook and an eye at the top. The back of the waistband is elasticated. The dress is bigger than the bodice.

The Bodice
The shirt part is super pretty with all the blue and golden embroidery. I find it a bit sad that the embroidery in the centre front isn’t going all the way down to the waistband… For Anna’s Snow Mountain costume, the embroidery went all the way down. Maybe they wanted to save on the more expensive golden thread or something, the embroidery on Snow Mountain Anna is just blue thread. But I don’t like the fact that they skimped on the embroidery. Anyway, it is “motzen auf hohem Niveau” as we say in German. Here’s a look at the shirt part:

I do love the clasp a lot. It is really pretty and nice and weighted. Also very nice, the embroidery matches up at the seams. That’s the quality we love 🙂

And here is a close up of the blue and golden embroidery in the centre front of the shirt.

I also wanted to mention the cuffs. They are not only embroidered, there are also two buttons to choose from. I really like that because Secret Honey’s cuffs tend to be very snug on me.

The Skirt
The skirt of the Anna Skating dress is of course embroidered too! Here is a look at the two different motives:

Let’s have a look at the bigger one first:

And here is the smaller motive. I had some issues with editing these photos, the colours of the embroidery threads are slightly different in real live, my apologies:

The skirt has two layers, the embroidered layer and a lining layer. No tulle or anything in this skirt, but I don’t think it needs it, I will wear this one without any petticoat underneath. The binding used around the hem of the skirt is the same as the one used for the bodice by the way 🙂

And that is already it for today’s post. I do really love this dress and I hope that you enjoyed having a look at all the details together with me. Thanks a lot for reading and I hopefully see you in my next post.
Love,
Ella
