Secret Honey Christmas Belle Dress
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today, I would like to show you this Christmas Belle Dress from Secret Honey. It is very detailed, with lots of pleats, lace and a beautiful print around the hem. I owned the audio book of the movie when I was a child and I absolutely loved it. Good memories. The dress comes with a matching shirt btw. I also sewed a shirt back in 2016.
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Anna Travel Cosplay.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Christmas Belle Dress
First of all, I want to show you this beautiful dress in action, well, on my dress form 🙂 Here it is from the front. As you can see, the shirt peeks out at the top of the neckline a little bit:
Here is the set from the side:
And here you can see the back of the dress. No peeking out of the shirt in the back:
The Shirt
I really, really like this shirt. This shade of red is my favourite. I am a bit disappointed, that the red of the dress itself is more muted. I think this beautiful deep and saturated shade of red would have been amazing. Here it is on my dress form. This red is accurate, I am still bad at photoshopping, so the red is not consistent throughout the photos, but this one is accurate:
Here you can see the neckline of the shirt. It is decorated with lace. This lace is visible in the front when you wear the shirt beneath the dress:
Here is a little close up of the lace:
And then, we have the sleeves. They are very pretty. Decorated with flower lace. They are three quarter length and have a peplum at the end. The peplum is also decorated with lace, very cute:
When I first got this dress, I didn’t have the shirt to go with it, so I sewed my own. My sleeves are more voluminous, I prefer that. Also two layers 😉 Unfortunately I don’t have this shirt anymore, but here are some pictures:
The Dress
Now let’s talk about the main piece, which is the dress. Also here, I had some problems to keep the shade of red consistent and accurate, but I did my best. Red is a pain in the a*** to photograph and photoshop…
Size and Closure
I remember this dress to be quite small and short in the bodice. It was high-waisted on me back in the day. It closes with a side zipper and a hook and an eye at the top and is fully lined. In the centre back there is some shirring at the waist and around the neckline to adjust the size. There is also a little lace up detail which I find very cute:
The Bodice
I really like the bodice of this dress. It is like Belle’s but better with all the pleating, the trim and the lace.
Around the neckline we have a rose lace that decorates the edge:
The centre part of the bodice is made from some sort of chiffon that is textured and was pleated. In the centre, there is white trim. On the sides, we have golden trim:
There is also golden trim at the waistline of the bodice before the skirt starts. The white part of the skirt is also pleated:
The Skirt
The red fabric of the split overskirt is decorated with a diamond shaped pattern that features crosses and other ornaments. This fabric was also used for the bodice:
Also here, we have the warm golden trim that decorates the edge at the front opening of the skirt:
The Layers
It looks as if this dress has many layers, but in fact, it’s just three 🙂 The lace and ruffles are sewn on to the pleated chiffon layer and then we have the lining layer. On top with a split in the front, we have the fashion fabric layer with the print.
The Lace
The bottom of the centre of the skirt is decorated with three different laces as well as ruffles:
Here is a close up of the lace trim and the upper lace ruffle:
The Print
On the overskirt we have an absolutely gorgeous print showing characters from the movie in portrait frames that are decorated with crowns, ornaments and more. First up we have Belle:
Between the portrait prints we have this cute print of Beast’s castle:
Of course we can’t miss Angelique:
We also have Adam and Belle:
And also Maestro Forte should not be missing in this print:
And that is already it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed having a look at all the details of this Christmas Belle dress together with me. I thank you for reading and I wish you a good one!
Love,
Ella
