Secret Honey Aurora Rose Dress

Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today I would like to show you my Aurora rose dress from Secret Honey. This is a rerelease from Secret Honey’s 2014 limited edition rose dress, that I already showcased on my blog. Here is the post if you are interested. I also really love this version, the blue is super beautiful in combination with the grey print.

I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Rapunzel Hair Onepice.

If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.

The Aurora Rose Dress

Here are some picture of the dress from all sides to start the post. Here it is from the front:

The main differences between the 2016 version and the 2014 version are: The length of the skirt (2016 is longer), the colour of the dress (obviously, but there was also a pink version released in 2016), the lace, the buttons in the center of the bodice (roses for 2016 instead of plain fabric covered buttons). Here it is from the side:

I love the gradient from blue to beige on the skirt. Here is the dress from the back:

Sizing and Closure

I wasn’t able to wear this dress so far and I couldn’t find the official measurements, so it’s difficult for me to say something about its size. If it is the same size as its 2014 sister (it looks like it, the bodice has the same cut), then it fits up to a size M. I will report back on the size as soon as I was able to wear the dress.

The dress closes with a zipper in the center back and a hook and an eye at the top. There is shirring at the neckline and also on both sides of the back in the waist.

The sleeves are elasticated as well which makes it comfortable to wear.

The Bodice

The bodice is gathered in the centre front which makes it roomy in the bust area. There is a strip of lace and on top of it are rose plastic buttons. The neckline as well as the waistband are decorated with grey lace.

Here is a closer look on the grey rose buttons. I am not sure if I like them or not to be honest… I don’t like the fact that they are plastic, I’d prefer metallic buttons. But the lace beneath them is a beautiful detail.

And here is a closer look at the waistband with the grey rose lace. I like this detail a lot, it’s very classy.

The Print

There are two different prints on this dress: 1st the print on the fabric featuring different rose bouquets and 2nd the print around the hem showcasing characters from the movie as well as a ton of roses. Let’s have a look:

The Rose Print

The fabric used for bodice and skirt is printed with roses in grey as well as roses in pink and grey. I really like this print, it is subtle but effective and of course matches the theme of the dress. On this photo you can also see that the fabric is textured which is another difference to the 2014 version.

The Border Print

And as it is the case for all of Secret Honey’s early dresses, we also have a beautiful border print around the hem of this dress. On the first picture, we have Aurora sleeping in the tower, the castle, Maleficent as the dragon, the spinning wheel and lots of thorns and roses.

On the second picture I want to share we have the rest of the print showing Aurora, Maleficent and her raven, the fairy godmothers and lots of roses again:

The print repeats several times around the circumference of the hem.

And that is already it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed having a look at this Aurora Rose dress together with me. Thank you for reading and I’ll see you in my next post.

Love,
Ella
