Secret Honey Coronation Anna Knit Set
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today, I would like to show you this beautiful Coronation Anna Knit set from 2016 from Secret Honey. It consists of a tulle skirt, a knit top and a knit cardigan. I do love it very much since the size is very comfy. Also I love Coronation Anna a lot. Well, I love all Anna dresses… 🙂
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Christmas Belle Costume.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
A disclaimer in the beginning: I am a bit more critical about this set than I usually am with Secret Honey. Normally Secret Honey’s quality and everything are super good and there is no need for complaining a lot. You do like a dress’ design or you don’t, but the quality was always impeccable. But this set feels a bit like a cash grab to me. If I remember correctly, it was released to celebrate the opening of the Hong Kong store and it was also only released there, but don’t quote me on that, I am not 100 % sure. So it has a high price, because it is rare, but not the same quality as Secret Honey’s pieces usually have. I will point out what I mean. I think, I will have to sell this set at some point (at least the top and skirt). I really love the cardigan (although it is scratchy) and I bought the other pieces to complete the set. I wanted it, because it is so rare, which is very silly. I noticed that I am not really a fan while writing this post. There were many things I noticed while wearing the pieces but I never thought about all of them together at once. So writing this felt like complaining nonstop because I thought of all the things that I did not like. But, I want to point out, that I am still complaining on a very high level. The quality is still better than a lot of other Disney pieces out there. So. If you want to hear me be critical with Secret Honey for probably the first and last time, read on 🙂
The Coronation Anna Knit Set
We took a few photos of the whole set in our hotel room in Stuttgart when we visited the Frozen Musical. If you are interested in my full outfit and nightgown, you can read my post on my Frozen Musical Outfit here. Here is a look at the skirt, the shirt and the cardigan together on me:

And since you cannot really see the top beneath the cardigan, I have a mirror selfie for you here:

We will of course also have a look at the set on my dress form since I didn’t show you different angles yet 🙂 The pieces were released in September 2016. Here are the original prices:
- Tulle Skirt: 9800 yen + taxes
- Knit Top: 6900 yen + taxes
- Knit Cardigan: 11000 yen + taxes
So you payed around 30000 yen for the whole set including taxes… Not cheap, especially for the fact, that a few things were skipped to cut cost (detachable straps, hook and eye to close cardigan, some inconsistencies in colours used usw.). But, just my own opinion. I mean it is complaining on a very high level.
Here it is from the front on my dress form:

Here we have the set from the side:

And here it is from the back:

The Coronation Anna Knit Cardigan
Let us start with the cardigan. This is my favourite piece from the set. It is so gorgeous. I do have to say however, the material is not my favourite, it is quite scratchy on my skin. I always wear a turtle neck beneath it so the cardigan doesn’t touch my skin. The size is nice though, no restriction for a bigger bust and the sleeves are decently long.

The Bow
The cardigan closes with two ties in the front that are made of this striped satin material. There is no hook and eye, it is really just the ties that close the cardigan. And they are just sewn onto the cardigan, you can see it in the picture below… Why on the outside? The inside would have been a bit nicer already. It looks quite ugly ^^’

Here you can see the inside of the collar in the front. No hook and eye 🙂

One of the ties has the emblem of Arendelle embroidered in gold on it:

The Collar
The collar is decorated with apliques in velvet and a textured material around it to represent the pattern on Anna’s cape:

Here is a closer look at the textured material:

The Sleeves
I love the sleeves, I love bishop sleeves a lot. Also, they are longer than Secret Honey’s sleeves usually are. They are just the right length for me 🙂 Not too long, not too short.

The Coronation Anna Knit Top
Next, let us have a look at the cute knit top. I am on the fence about it… I like that it is comfy to wear. And the embroidery. But that’s about it. Here it is on my dress form. As you can see, it is no cropped top, I think it is meant to reach over your hips. On me however, it doesen’t. The length is weird for me. I normally wear it cropped, but then it does have some folds… Which is not ideal. I think it will be better once I lost all the weight I gained. I will see. In theory I really love this top. The idea is cute.

Here is the top on my floor. I wanted to show it to you like this because now you can see that it doesn’t have any shape. It is just a long tube.

The Sleeves
I do have to say, I am unsure about these knitted straps. They are less finely knitted than the material for the top or cardigan. Also it is not the same green as the yarn used for the cardigan. I don’t understand why. You create a set. Why do the greens not match?

Here’s a closer look on the pattern:

There are elastic straps in black beneath the knitted straps. They are not detachable.

The Embroidery
A detail I like a lot is the typical embroidery on the front of the bodice. It is very nicely done and an absolute eye catcher:

And, that is not all the embroidery 😉 If you look at the back of the shirt you will find golden embroidery of Anna on the bottom right.

All in all, it is a cute idea, I do have a few things that I would like to be different, but, it is something special, a design that is very unique in Secret Honey’s collections. Hasn’t been done since. I can cherish the uniqueness of it 🙂
The Tulle Skirt
The tulle skirt… I also have some things to say about the skirt xD. My first complaint are the two tulle layers that are quite opaque together and hide the biggest part of the print on the layer underneath. I am also no fan of the upper tulle layer’s colour. I would have preferred the darker colour to be on top, not the light one… But, there are still a lot of pretty details to detect 🙂

Size and Closure
The waistband is smaller than it is usually on Secret Honey’s tulle skirts. It’s about the same size as the Rapunzel Tulle Skirt, I posted a size comparison in this blogpost. Although it is smaller, it still fits nicely. The colour choice for the waistband does surprise me a bit though. Why is it not green?

The Layers
As you can see, the skirt has three layers, two tulle layers and the printed fabric layer. There is no lining like there is normally.

The upper tulle layer is finished with lace, which is a nice detail. The second tulle layer however is simply cut. I know, that tulle does not fray and that it is not necessary to finish it nicely. But I like things to be finished nicely… Maybe it would have looked strange beneath the first layer though…

The Print
Then, we have the print layer. We have the usual print representing the embroidery on Anna’s skirt. And then, we do have forest green lines in between… Representing the pleats… I don’t know if I like this or hate this ^^’

Here is a closer look at the embroidery print:

And of course, we also have a character print on this skirt. It is only two motives. I like, that the motives are new ones and that they didn’t repeat the three motives they usually use on coronation Anna. I have to give them that 😉 Here is Anna in front of a portrait of Elsa:

And here is the other motive showing Elsa preparing for her coronation while Anna is already outside:

And that is it for this post you guys. Tell me in the comments: Am I too critical and harsh with this set? Do you like it? I hope you enjoyed having a look at the details of the Coronation Anna Knit Set still. Thanks a lot for reading, until next time.
Love,
Ella
