Secret Honey Rapunzel Maxidress
Hello everyone, welcome back to another post. Today, I would like to show you this Rapunzel Maxidress from Secret Honey. This is the only lilac/pink dress that I kept eventhough I am not the biggest fan of the colour. But I love maxidresses so it was allowed to stay in my collection and gets worn frequently.
I showcase one of my Disney pieces every two weeks, you can check out my other posts if you like. Last time I showed you my Secret Honey Giselle Cosplay.
If you would like to know more about the brand and about how you can get these dresses, I have got you covered in this post. I also sometimes sell dresses from my collection, check out my shop or my Instagram, I usually list them there.
The Rapunzel Maxidress
This time, I actually have a picture of me wearing one of my dresses since it fits me again 🙂 Some of you may know, I am losing weight. I have more than 10 kilos already 😀 So only a matter of time, before I fit back into all my beautiful dresses. But back to this dress, here I am wearing it in a park:
And here is a picture of the side/back… Can’t decide, it’s something in between 😛
And since my chesticles (102cm in circumference at that point) are a bit squeezed into this dress, here it is on my dressform with a chest of 95cm for your reference:
And here is a look at the dress from the side:
Sizing and Closure
I am living proof that a chest of more than 100cm fits this dress (more or less…). The waist is also pretty wide, which makes this one of the biggest Secret Honey dresses I know about. And I love it 😀 Because Rapunzel’s dresses usually are very tiny. It is so nice to get one that has a “decent” size (we’re still talking about Japanese onesize though… Inclusivity is something different). The dress closes with a side zipper:
Also, we have elasticated sleeves, which we love:
And in the back around the waist and around the neckline, we have shirring:
The Lace Bodice
The bodice of this dress is an absolute stunner. It is made from the lilac underfabric and a layer of embroidered tulle that looks like lace:
Here is a close up of the flowers and tendrils on the tulle fabric:
The Lace Up Detail
Reminiscent of Rapunzel’s dress, we have a lace up detail in the center front:
Here is a close up at the eyelit lace that was used to create the loops for the ribbon to be laced through:
The Sleeves
The sleeves are particularly pretty. It is just the embroidered tulle layer with lace ribbons sewn onto it to create sleeves similar to Rapunzel’s. The edges are decorated with white lace:
Here is a close up of the sleeve:
The Skirt
The skirt is quite simple compared to the bodice but there still are a few amazing details. In the center front, we have a pleat in the tulle fabric and on both sides of this pleat runs embroidery down the dress, just like on Rapunzel’s dress in the movie:
The Embroidered Motives
Left and right of the center of the skirt, we have two embroidered motives. On the right, we have Rapunzel and Pascal. Here is Rapunzel:
And next to her is Pascal:
On the left side of the skirt, we have embroidery showing Rapunzel’s tower as well as some of the lanterns and the symbol of Rapunzel’s Kingdom:
Lace and Layers
This dress has two layers of fabric, the tulle one and a cotton-like fabric beneath it. It is very light and thus perfect for summer:
And last but not least, we have the hem of this dress. It is decorated with beautiful flower lace:
And that is it for today. I hope you enjoyed having a look at this Rapunzel Maxidress together with me. Thanks a lot for reading and I see you in my next post.
Love,
Ella
