Secret Honey Jasmine Sequin Dress

The Jasmine Sequin Dress

First, as always, the dress in its full glory. Don’t mind the sleeves, my mannequin has no shoulders unfortunately, so they look a bit sad, but we will have a look at the sleeves a bit later in the post to admire them. Here is the dress from the front:

As you can see, eventhough the dress has a lining, it is slightly sheer. So wear nude underwear underneath it. Here is the dress from the back:

Size and Closure

This dress does not have a lot of space in the bust area, it barely fits my dressforms chest. More than 95cm circumference will not really work, unfortunately. But the stretch around the waist is decent. There is shirring in the back of the dress:

The straps are adjustable in length, but not detachable:

The Bodice Details

The bodice of this dress has amazing details from peacock feathers to gemstones. Let’s have a look!

Sleeves

I love the sleeves of this dress. They are narrow but meant to wear off the shoulders, otherwise they will look funny. If you have broader shoulders, this dress might not be the one for you. Each sleeve is decorated with peacock feathers, made from sequins and embroidery. They are also pleated and it is a double layer of soft tulle fabric. Here is a close up:

The Gemstone

In the center of the neckline, we have a clear gemstone:

Peacock Feathers and Ornaments

The bodice itself is gathered in the centre front which gives the chest a more voluminous appearance. It is decorated with peacock feathers. Beneath is a beautiful waistband with ornaments done with sequins and embroidery:

The Skirt

The skirt of this dress is sooooo beautiful. It is over and over decorated with embroidery, appliquès and sequins. Let’s have a look at the details:

Overall Pattern

On the upper part of the skirt, we have golden dots and peacock feathers decorating the skirt. They are done with golden sequins and embroidery thread:

The Hem

The hem of this dress is breathtakingly beautiful. It repeats the heart-shaped ornaments from the waistband all around:

The Embroidery

I call this embroidery for the lack of a better term… It is actually a mixture of appliquès, embroidery and sewn on sequins. Let’s have a look at the different motives. First up, we have genie. He is placed quite high up the skirt, flying in the sky:

A bit further down, we have the magic carpet flying around as well:

Then we get to the hem. A peacock is placed on the left and the right side of the hem:

Next from right to left we have the lamp:

A bit further left and above the lamp, we have Agrabah and some jasmine flowers:

And last but certainely not least, we have Jasmine with a shawl of some sort:
